Homemade (Non-Surgical) Fabric Mask-Pleated
Shag Couture is donating non-medical/non-surgical face mask coverings and scrub caps to the Orlando VA Healthcare System and nominated healthcare workers. Purchase one for yourself to partake in helping the cause. If there's a specific color you'd prefer please message us and we will do our best to accommodate.
*These face masks coverings do not guarantee against the protection of viruses and/or other diseases.
This style face mask covering is pleated and has a universal fit. It comes with a pocket in the case any additional filters are required and a built in wire to give a more snug fit across the bridge of the nose.
Our masks use the light filter technique suggested by Dr. Scott Segal, chairman of anesthesiology at Wake Forest Baptist Health, who has done a study on homemade masks. Dr. Segal suggests, in the New York Times article, “If light passes really easily through the fibers and you can almost see the fibers, it’s not a good fabric. If it’s a denser weave of thicker material and light doesn’t pass through it as much, that’s the material you want to use.”
**Production Time** Due to high demand we will be balancing production of donation masks and orders. We thank you for your support and patience!
